history

Anna fell in love with her paralyzed friend Rainer. During the dance training she meets David, who in turn falls in love with her. Valentine D'Arbanville invites both of them to audition at the Munich State Opera. The New York dance pope George Mamoulian notices Anna and makes a note of her name. The way to New York is now open to them. But Anna only wants to dance with David, who is only accepted by George Mamoulian as a training partner. Rainer reacts jealously to the close relationship between Anna and David. But with professional creativity and the resulting success, he gets over it and the relationship between him and Anna remains. He meets David in a disco and reacts aggressively to him. Before Anna's solo appearance, David balances over the heads of the audience. But he loses his balance and falls to his death.

In desperation, Anna decided to never wear ballet shoes again in her life. But Rainer won't let her throw away everything she worked so hard for. Finally he can convince her to go to New York and take advantage of this opportunity.

Reviews

"Conceived as a 'follow-up film' to the popular television series broadcast at the end of 1987, the fairy-tale teenage story offers little more than mediocre entertainment despite the nice actors, but which can certainly appeal to young people."
