The Recreational Captain is an American animated short film directed by Wolfgang Reitherman in 1961.

action

An overgrown front garden in a small US town where a boat is parked: The narrator reports that “Mr. X “called the owner of the house was once a completely normal person who walked to work and felt comfortable doing it. Like the majority of Americans, however, he was once caught by the "Aquamania", the love of water, and bought a boat.

He now wants to try water skiing with his son and puts the boat in the water. The car also falls into the sea, which is immediately eaten up by the salt water and disintegrates into its individual parts. Resurfacing the water, his son encourages Mr. X to try the water skis. What Mr. X doesn't know is that a waterskiing race is about to start. His son immediately sits at the head of the field with the awkward Mr. X, and despite the most adventurous actions and coincidences, Mr. X wins the race in the end and lands upside down in the gold cup.

production

The Recreational Captain came into theaters on February 20, 1961 as part of the Goofy Theatrical Cartoon Series . However, Goofy only becomes “Mr. X "called.
