The hierophant

The Hierophant or even the Pope is one of the also major arcana -called trump cards of the Tarot .

presentation

A high priest with a tiara sits between two pillars and holds a staff with three crossbars, the other hand is raised over two disciples in a blessing.

interpretation

The hierophant represents the will of God and its interpretation on earth. In the tarot the hierophant stands for questions about the meaning and the search for truth. The divine aspect can be interpreted as revelation or also as enlightenment. In the extreme, the characteristics of the hierophant can range up to intolerance or even presumption.
