The ring in Schwalmstadt is a glider flying site on the south-eastern outskirts of Schwalmstadt-Ziegenhain in the Schwalm-Eder district ( Hesse ). It is one of the largest glider areas in Hesse in terms of area and has four different take-off directions, each with two runways and two runways.

Place data

On the ring there is mainly winch operation with gliders, but aircraft towing , motor glider operations and, to a lesser extent, ultralight aircraft operations are also carried out. The lanes are very spacious so that winch operation can take place on two lanes in parallel. Another special feature is a fixed aerobatic space (box), which can be registered for glider aerobatics if required .
