19-year-old Wolfgang Becker is not developed according to his age and is severely inhibited. The upbringing in the parental home, through which loneliness and prudery were encouraged, played an essential part in this. He is unable to establish real friendship and partnership relationships with his peers, which is supported by his work in an old rural repair shop. When he falls in love with an underage schoolgirl, he abuses her trust and takes her by force.
