content

The young apprentice Tomáš is an ardent fan of Wild West novels. In real life he works as a trainer and junior jockey on a horse farm with some colleagues of his age. He is in love with the daughter of the horse trainer. In his fantasies, however, he is the "Beaver Kid" and has dangerous adventures in which he also saves his daughter; he is completely absorbed in this illusory world and thus on the nerves of his environment. To bring Tomáš back to reality, his colleagues stage an attack on their paymaster, which ends tragically when he actually dies. They all tragically end up in deep water with a little money.

criticism

“Youth film against false adventures and false idols from the dime-book milieu. Ethically of value, artistically weak. "
