The Country Cousin is a 1936 American animated short film directed by Wilfred Jackson .

action

Monty Citymouse from the big city City Limits has invited his cousin Abner Countrymouse from Podunk to come to him. Abner appears cheerfully and immediately wants to take the cheese that is lying on the mousetrap in front of Monty's mousehole. Monty can stop him and doesn't even look at the cheese - he leads Abner to the richly set dining table of the villa, where he only takes a few pieces of the finest cheese, very gourmet.

Meanwhile, Abner is too enthusiastic to be picky: he eagerly eats cheese, celery and cream. When he ingests a large portion of mustard , the spiciness takes a toll on him. He cools down with a sip of champagne and finally drinks the entire glass. Now he is drunk, sees Monty three times, admonishing him to calm down, and is amused by his reflection in a jelly . He kicked the house cat in high spirits and was chased out of the house by her. Out on the street, Abner avoids countless pairs of legs, trams, cars and motorcycles, is honked from all sides and has to fear for his life more than once. In the end, he rushes back to Podunk.

production
