The red wedding

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The red Wedding was a 1929 agitprop troop in the north of Berlin.

It was created as a reaction to the so-called Blutmai , where police officers shot at least 32 residents from May 1st to 3rd, 1929, mainly in Wedding and Neukölln , then known Berlin working-class district. Like other groups of this kind, she sought direct proximity to the workers with her performances, for example by performing in open-air swimming pools, allotments or the backyards of the working-class neighborhoods. Her performance song of the same name , which also exists in a record from 1929 sung by the group, also became known and popular separately from the group.
