The deeper meaning of Labenz

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The deeper meaning of Labenz is the title of a humorous book by Douglas Adams , John Lloyd and Sven Böttcher . The book plays with the names of cities and villages by assigning new meanings to those names.

The book is Böttcher's transfer of the work The (Deeper) Meaning of Liff by the British authors Adams and Lloyd to place names that have an adequate comic effect in German-speaking countries. In individual cases, Böttcher replaces entries with completely new creations.

Labenz itself is the name of two places in Schleswig-Holstein and East Prussia .
