The Dereše is 2003.5  m nm of the lowest of the four Zweitausender the Low Tatras in Slovakia . The mountain is located in the main ridge of the mountain, about 1.5 km as the crow flies west of the Chopok mountain . The next mountains are the Chabenec ( 1955  m nm ) to the west on the main ridge and the Skalka ( 1980  m nm ) southeast of it.

Dereše Mountain can be reached directly from Chopok Mountain (red path). Alternatively, it can be reached from the easier south side via a yellow marked path from Tále , or via a green path over the Vajskovská dolina from Dolná Lehota .

The mountain is a popular destination for ski mountaineers in winter , but is considered to be prone to avalanches .
