Derek Grant (drummer)
Derek Grant (born April 24, 1977 ) is the current drummer of the Chicago- based American punk band Alkaline Trio , where he replaced Mike Felumlee in 2003 .
Grant previously played in bands such as B. The Suicide Machines , Telegraph , Gyga , Thoughts of Ionesco , Remainder and many others. He also toured with Face to Face as a guitarist and replaced drummer Josh Freese on some of the Vandals' appearances . Since he joined the Alkaline Trio with bassist Dan Andriano and guitarist Matt Skiba in 2003 , he has also been involved in the songwriting and is responsible for the background vocals.
Derek Grant is, like guitarist Matt Skiba, a member of the Church of Satan .
He lives in Indianapolis .
