Matt Skiba
Matthew Thomas Skiba (born February 24, 1976 in Chicago ) is an American musician.
He is the singer and guitarist of the Chicago- based punk band Alkaline Trio . Since 2015 he has also been a member of the American pop-punk band blink-182 .

Private
Skiba was born on February 24, 1976 in Chicago as the son of the oral and maxillofacial surgeon Thomas Skiba and the elementary school teacher Joan Skiba. He has a sister who is three years younger than him. When he was three years old, the family moved from Chicago to McHenry , Illinois . He has been skateboarding since he was 10 . He lives in Los Angeles . In 2005, Skiba announced in an interview with the music magazine Guitar World that he is a member of the Church of Satan . In the same interview he also said that he was an atheist . He describes his membership in the Church of Satan as a joke. He is a vegetarian and supports the animal rights organization PeTA .
Career
Prior to joining Alkaline Trio, Skiba was the drummer for Jerkwater , Blunt and The Traitors . In 2002 he recorded a split EP with Kevin Seconds (singer of the band 7 Seconds ) . In the meantime he worked as a bicycle courier . In 1996 Skiba founded the Alkaline Trio with Glenn Porter and Rob Doran . The first successes were quickly achieved; The band has now released 8 regular albums, an EP collection and two split EPs (with Hot Water Music and One Man Army ). He can also be heard on Jeffree Star's debut studio album Beauty Killer in the song "Louis Vuitton Body Bag", which was released in September 2009. He also made a guest appearance on the Rise Against album Endgame .
Skiba's second solo album Demos was released in 2010. He released Babylon (2012) and Kuts (2015) as "Matt Skiba and the Secret" .
Since March 2015, Skiba has also been a replacement for Tom DeLonge, who left the band, at Blink-182 . After a few joint concerts in March of the same year, there was the possibility that Skiba could join the band as a permanent member. DeLonge did not return and has now been replaced by Skiba for good.
Blink-182's first album with Skiba was soon created. It's called California and was released on July 1, 2016.
