Greatest Hits (English for: "Greatest Hits") is a best-of album by the American alternative rock band blink-182 . It was released on November 1, 2005 on the Geffen Records label.

The songs on the album are mostly previously released singles from the five studio albums released up to this point: Cheshire Cat (two songs), Dude Ranch (two songs), Enema of the State (three tracks), Take Off Your Pants and Jacket (three tracks) and blink-182 (four tracks). Only the songs Not Now , Another Girl Another Planet and Aliens Exist (Live in LA) are new releases. It also includes the track Man Overboard from the live album The Mark, Tom and Travis Show (The Enema Strikes Back!) .

The majority of the album (twelve songs) were produced by the music producer Jerry Finn , who died in 2008 . Two productions each come from the producers O and Mark Trombino. The band blink-182 only produced one track with Another Girl Another Planet .

Cover design

The album cover is kept quite simple. It shows the band's logo in gray - a smiling smiley whose eyes are crossed and surrounded by a circle with five arrows pointing to the left. At the top of the picture is the band lettering blink-182 and at the bottom of the picture the title Greatest Hits in gray. The background is black.

The best-of album rose to number 26 in the German charts and stayed in the top 100 for ten weeks. In the USA, the album reached number 6 and left the charts after 45 weeks.

The song Not Now was released as a single . The song reached position 30 in the UK and stayed on the charts for two weeks.

For more than 600,000 copies sold, Greatest Hits was awarded a double platinum record in the UK in 2016 .

Oliver Lambrecht from laut.de rated the album with three out of a possible five points. It is "a farewell album with 18 songs that rightly have the title" Best Of "attached." The development of the band over five studio albums is well recorded, even if the added value next to the well-known songs is "not really much".
