Helmut Köhler (legal scholar)

Helmut Köhler (born September 12, 1944 in Bad Endorf ) is a German legal scholar , judge at the Higher Regional Court a. D. and emeritus professor .

Life

He studied law at the University of Munich from 1964 to 1968 and received a scholarship from the German National Academic Foundation . In 1969, Köhler passed the first state examination in law in Munich and was a trainee service in the Munich Higher Regional Court district from 1969 to 1972 . During the traineeship, doctorate he 1970. Dr. jur. at the University of Munich with Karl Larenz . 1972 Koehler passed the second state examination in law. He completed his habilitation in 1975 at the University of Munich under Ernst Steindorff and received the license to teach civil law , commercial law and business law . In 1975 and 1976 teaching assignments at the Universities of Göttingen and Hamburg followed . From 1976 to 1977 Helmut Köhler was scientific advisor and professor at the University of Bonn . From 1977 to 1985 he taught as a full professor at the University of Bayreuth and from 1985 to 1996 at the University of Augsburg . In 1996 he became a full professor at the University of Munich and has now retired .

In addition to his teaching activities, he was a part-time judge at the Bayreuth Regional Court from 1982 to 1985 and became a part-time judge at the Munich Higher Regional Court (Competition and Cartel Senate) in 1990 . He is now retired as a judge.

Publications / Editorships

Kohler is the author and co editor of a commentary to the law against unfair competition Köhler / Born comb and editor of the legal journal competition in law and practice . Numerous essay publications, book chapters in the field of study literature and scientific treatises are part of his work.
