Derrick Brown (* 15. April , 1998 in Sugar Hill , Georgia ) is an American American football poker players in the position of defensive tackle for the Carolina Panthers in the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Auburn and was selected by the Panthers in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft .

High school

Derrick Brown was born on April 15, 1998 in Sugar Hill, Georgia. He later attended Lanier High School in Buford , Georgia, where he scored 33.5 quarterback sacks, 270 tackles, 5 forced fumbles, and 3 interceptions as a defensive tackle. As a senior, Brown was considered one of the best high school defensive tackles in the country. When choosing college, he considered several schools, with Georgia and Alabama being favorites for him before joining Auburn University on February 3, 2016.

college

As a freshman in 2016, Brown had 11 tackles with a sack and a fumble recovery. In 2017, Brown started as a sophomore in all 12 games, recorded a total of 49 tackles, 3.5 sacks, 8.5 tackles for loss and 2 forced fumbles. Brown was called up as a junior to the second team All-SEC, with 48 tackles, including 10.5 for loss and 4.5 sacks. As a senior, he had 55 tackles, including 12.5 tackles for loss, four sacks, two forced fumbles, and four intercepted passes.
