Des Koch (actually: Desmond Dalworth Koch ; born May 10, 1932 in Lincoln County , Tennessee , † January 26, 1991 in Los Angeles ) was an American discus thrower .
In 1955, starting for the University of Southern California , he won the NCAA championship and became US champion. The following year he won bronze at the 1956 Olympic Games in Melbourne behind his compatriots Al Oerter and Fortune Gordien .
