The Descent Cliff (English for descent cliff ) is a cliff on the Antarctic Ross Island in the Ross Archipelago . It looms between the Hutton Cliffs and the Erebus Glacier tongue on the west side of the Hut Point Peninsula .
Participants in the Terra Nova Expedition (1910–1913) led by British polar explorer Robert Falcon Scott mapped and named it. It is named after a descent to the sea ice of McMurdo Sound .
