The Hutton Cliffs are cliffs on the Antarctic Ross Island in the Ross Archipelago . They tower 3 km north of Ford Rock on the west side of the Hut Point Peninsula .
Participants in the Discovery Expedition (1901–1904), led by British polar explorer Robert Falcon Scott, discovered and named it. It is named after Frederick Wollaston Hutton (1836–1905), curator of the Canterbury Museum in Christchurch, New Zealand from 1893 until his death.
