Deseilligny is a small impact crater on the northeastern front of the moon in the Mare Serenitatis plain , east of Bessel crater and northwest of Dawes .

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1935 after the French selenographer Jules Alfred Pierrot Deseilligny .
