The lyrics are about the invocation of Satan , demons , obsession , war, apocalypse and morbid sex.

Reviews

Melanie Aschenbrenner from Metal Hammer described it as “bad luck” that Desert Northern Hell “is currently being released into a kind of renaissance of True Black Metal: That should bring 50 more listeners, and the necro factor is getting tight. But blood sausage - these nine sawy, thoroughly lousy odes to the darkness simply belong among the people! "Your colleague Martin Wickler praised the album, which offers" zero innovation, but with style and finesse the aura of the rise of Norwegian Black Metal- Play scene knows ". "Veteran warriors" who bought albums like Diabolical Fullmoon Mysticism or In the Nightside Eclipse "on their release date will not be able to give the same feeling as they did back then. But Tsjuder still manage to take the listener on a successful journey through time, when Black Metal was still determined by feeling and attitude and was free of pseudo-commercial faux pas and questionable, political connotations. That's exactly what I missed. "

According to Brother Cle of Rock Hard , the album “comes very close to the ideal of a perfect Black Metal record. Significantly, the Bathory cover 'Sacrifice' fits in naturally with their own compositions. Songs like the slow, Celtic-Frost-heavy 'Mouth Of Madness' or the eleven-minute 'Morbid Lust' are further impressive evidence of the songwriting talent of the infernal trio. " Desert Northern Hell proves" how lively the Scandinavian Black Metal scene is currently is ". His colleague Dorian Gorr described it as a “cracker” and Wolf-Rüdiger Mühlmann as a “punch” for the Norwegian scene at the time, “in which, with a few exceptions, Hinz and Kunz made one look grown-up, reflective and progressive. Barbaric Black Metal with loads of hatred and 'Fuck you, you clerical fellow lucky guy!' seemed largely out in Norway. "
