The Deskry Water is a river in Scotland . It rises in the sparsely populated Cairngorm Mountains on the slopes of the 871 m high Morven around ten kilometers north of Ballater in the Aberdeenshire region . The Deskry Water initially runs around ten kilometers in a north-easterly direction and then forms a wide loop in order to head west towards the Don . After a total length of 14 kilometers, the Deskry Water flows into the Don around eleven kilometers west of Glenkindie , which finally drains into the North Sea in Aberdeen . The river takes on numerous streams on its course, but has no noteworthy tributaries. There are no towns or villages along the course of the river. Only individual farmsteads are passed.
In the final kilometers, the A97 crosses Deskry Water twice. With the Deskry Bridge , the Boultenstone Bridge and the East Bridge, three listed bridges cross the river. While the former spans the Deskry Water in three arches, the remaining bridges have only one arch.
