The River Don is a river in Aberdeenshire , Scotland . It rises in the Cairngorm Mountains and flows over 131 kilometers east to the North Sea near Aberdeen . It flows through Alford , Kemnay , Inverurie , Kintore and Dyce . The tributary Urie flows into the Don at Inverurie.
The Don is known as fishing waters for salmon and sea trout .
