Inverurie ( Gaelic : Inbhir Uaraidh ) is a town in Aberdeenshire , Scotland with 12,654 inhabitants (as of 2011).

The city is named after the river Urie and means "mouth of the Urie". It flows into the Don on the southern outskirts of the city .

  • The Bass of Inverurie and Inverurie Cemetery are closely spaced collections of monuments from two historical periods in the south of Inverurie.
