Aberdeenshire East is a constituency for the Scottish Parliament . It was introduced in 2011 as one of ten constituencies in the electoral region of North East Scotland , which was redesigned and expanded from nine to ten constituencies as part of the constituencies' revision in 2011. Here, the constituency of Aberdeenshire East was formed from areas of the former constituencies of Gordon and Banff and Buchan . It covers northeastern areas of the Council Area Aberdeenshire with the cities of Inverurie , Ellon and Turriff . The constituency sends a representative.
The constituency covers an area of 1395.5 km 2 . In the 2011 census survey, a total of 77,427 people lived within its borders.
