Dundee City East is a constituency for the Scottish Parliament . It was introduced in 2011 as one of ten constituencies in the electoral region of North East Scotland , which was redesigned and expanded from nine to ten constituencies as part of the constituency revision in 2011. The constituency of Dundee City East was essentially formed from areas of the former constituency of Dundee East . It covers the eastern part of the city of Dundee and sends one MP.
The constituency covers an area of 27 km 2 . In the 2011 census survey, a total of 72,001 people lived within its borders.
