The Communauté de communes du Diois (also called Pays Diois ) is a French association of municipalities with the legal form of a Communauté de communes in the Département Drôme , the administrative seat of which is in Die . The community association consists of 50 communities on an area of ​​around 1,224 km 2 . Its territory includes the Diois , a landscape in the east of the department that forms the upper catchment area of ​​the Drôme . Alain Matheron is president of the community association. The Communauté de communes goes back to a predecessor association ( district ) of the same size.

tasks

The competencies required include the development and promotion of economic activities and tourism as well as spatial planning on the basis of a Schéma de Cohérence Territoriale . The community association operates the sewage disposal (partially), the garbage collection and disposal and the slaughterhouse in Die. In addition, the association builds and maintains cultural institutions and determines housing policy.

Historical development

On January 1, 2019, the former municipalities of Châtillon-en-Diois and Treschenu-Creyers formed the Commune nouvelle Châtillon-en-Diois . This reduced the number of member communities to 50.
