The Communauté de communes du Crestois et du Pays de Saillans (sometimes with the suffix Coeur de Drôme ) is a French association of communes with the legal form of a Communauté de communes in the Drôme département , whose administrative seat is in Aouste-sur-Sye . The association of municipalities consists of 15 municipalities and has 14,952 inhabitants (as of 2015) on an area of ​​234.2 km ² , the area includes the central Drôme Valley. Gilles Magnon is president of the community association.

history

The Communauté de communes du Crestois et du Pays de Saillans was created on January 1, 2014 from the merger of the following predecessor associations and municipalities:

• the Communauté de communes du Pays de Saillans , an association of 11 municipalities around Saillans founded in 2001 ,
• the Communauté de communes du Crestois , an association founded in 1992 of three municipalities from the Crest region ,
• the town of Crest itself, which left the CC du Crestois in 2006.

tasks

The competencies required include the development and promotion of economic activities and tourism as well as spatial planning on the basis of a Schéma de Cohérence Territoriale . The association of municipalities determines the housing construction policy and is responsible for the water management plan in the affected section of the Drôme as well as for sewage disposal. He also operates the garbage collection and disposal. In addition, the association builds and maintains cultural and sports facilities and promotes events in these areas.
