Dundee City West is a constituency for the Scottish Parliament . It was introduced in 2011 as one of ten constituencies in the electoral region of North East Scotland , which was redesigned and expanded from nine to ten constituencies as part of the constituencies' revision in 2011. Here the constituency of Dundee City West was essentially formed from areas of the former constituency of Dundee West . It covers the western part of the city of Dundee and sends one MP.
The constituency extends over an area of 32.8 km 2 . In the 2011 census survey, a total of 75,267 people lived within its borders.
