Detlef Fronda

Detlef Fronda (born September 25, 1956 - † October 14, 2018 ) was a German basketball player .

Life

Fronda played basketball at BC Gelsenkirchen, then went to Münster to study and played at the local UBC Münster before moving to BG Hagen in 1979. With Hagen he rose in the 1979/80 season from the 2nd basketball league to the basketball league  and in the 1980/81 season was also part of the BG squad in the top German division, but missed out on the team in 1980/81 the Bundesliga relegation. Fronda switched to TuS Herten , with whom the development player was promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga in 1985. In addition, he was active in youth work in Herten, in the department management and later until 2002 as a coach of the men's team, which he led in the team with Gerd Kusau in the 1st Regionalliga West.

Fronda worked professionally for the city ​​of Herten . From 1985 he completed an apprenticeship for the administrative service and then worked in the civil engineering department, in the construction department and in the municipal office. From 2004 he was responsible for relations with associations at the city of Herten and from 2009 also with partner cities.
