Detlef Müller (mathematician)

Detlef Müller (born June 13, 1954 in Dissen ) is a German mathematician who deals with analysis .

Müller received his doctorate in 1981 at the University of Bielefeld under Horst Leptin (1927–2017) ( The synthesis behavior of smooth hypersurfaces with homogeneous curvature conditions ${\displaystyle \mathbb {R} ^{n}}$ ). He completed his habilitation in Kiel in 1984. In 1992 he became professor at the University of Louis Pasteur in Strasbourg and in 1994 at the University of Kiel .

He deals with harmonic analysis (including on Lie groups ) with applications to partial differential equations .

In 2018 he was made a Fellow of the American Mathematical Society . Müller is a member of the editorial boards of the Journal of Lie Theory and the Annali di Matematica Pura ed Applicata .
