Act

Rahe is active both in teaching, especially with his concept of an integrated design course, as well as in applied research and design practice. Rahes work spectrum ranges from product and industrial design to spatial design and architecture to visual design, brand development, campaigns and human-machine interfaces . His work is aimed at both design quality and usability. He has worked for many well-known clients such as ABB , Villeroy & Boch , FSB, Bayer, Friesland Porzellanfabrik , Brillux , GC-Gruppe and others, but also helped many small companies with start-ups to be successful. Through his approach to understanding and applying design as a problem-solving method, Detlef Rahe was given the opportunity to completely rebuild the design department in Dessau as professor and dean. This newly conceived course “integrated design” also caught on in Gothenburg as well as, and particularly extensively, in Bremen.
