Detlef Zinke

Detlef Zinke (born November 19, 1947 in Frankfurt am Main ) is a German art historian .

After graduating from high school, Zinke studied art history and classical archeology at the universities of Frankfurt and Vienna . In 1977 he was in Frankfurt with a thesis on Joachim Patinir world landscape doctorate .

After completing his dissertation , he worked on the first volume of the corpus work “Nachantike Großplastische Bildwerke” at Liebieghaus in Frankfurt . From 1979 to 1981 he was a volunteer at the Württembergischer Kunstverein in Stuttgart.

In 1981 he became a research assistant at the Augustinermuseum in Freiburg im Breisgau and soon became deputy director. His main focus was painting and sculpture up to 1800. From 2002 to 2008 he was acting director of the house. He designed and organized numerous large exhibitions as well as the redesign of the Augustinermuseum up to the opening in March 2010. In December 2012, he retired.
