German-Polish Lawyers Association

The German-Polish Lawyers' Association (DPJV; Polish Niemiecko-Polskie Stowarzyszenie Prawników ) was founded in 1990 with its seat in Berlin and is a bilateral legal association.

One of the aims of the association is above all to impart knowledge about Polish law. It also offers a forum for German and Polish lawyers to meet in order to promote the exchange of experiences and the establishment of professional and private contacts. The DPJV regularly organizes German-Polish legal conferences and also offers a German-Polish internship exchange with training opportunities for young lawyers or trainees , a job exchange and a specialist index.

Projects

The association has launched several long-term German-Polish legal projects since it was founded. This includes the initiation of schools of German law at Polish universities and schools of Polish law at German universities, as well as the establishment of a central German-Polish legal database de-iure-pl with a legal dictionary that is freely accessible.

activity

The DPJV also successfully arranges student interns and trainee lawyers from Germany to Poland and from Poland to Germany. The receiving institutions are mainly law firms, but also companies, banks and authorities. In addition, the DPJV maintains a specialist index for German-Polish legal transactions.

German-Polish legal journal

The association has been the publisher of the German-Polish Legal Journal (DPJZ) for several years. This journal, published by the Berlin Wissenschafts-Verlag , is the first and only journal that focuses on German-Polish legal relations and is published in German as well as in Polish.
