German-Russian Forum - The future needs the past

The German-Russian Forum - The Future Needs the Past is a series of events that has been organized by the East Prussian Landsmannschaft since 2008, alternating between the Russian Oblast Kaliningrad and Germany . Initially, this meeting took place annually, and since 2014 every two years.

Participants in this cultural forum include German officials from the district communities of the Landsmannschaft and representatives of the Russian local authorities in Kaliningrad Oblast, museum directors, archivists and librarians as well as other cultural workers from both countries. Brigitte Stramm, board member of the East Prussia Landsmannschaft, is the event manager.

The aim of the events is an exchange of views and the preparation of joint cultural projects and culture-preserving measures in the Kaliningrad Oblast.

Previous meetings

The previous meetings have mostly taken place in mid-October.
