history

Deutsche Rückversicherung AG was founded in August 1951 in Bernkastel-Kues . In January 1952 she started business. The company was based in Hamburg and Berlin. In 1989, Deutsche Rück moved to Düsseldorf and formed an organizational and administrative community with the associations of public insurers (today the Association of Public Insurers ). The subsidiary Deutsche Rückversicherung Schweiz AG (DR Swiss) was founded in September 2000. In January 2001, the Zurich-based company started business. Deutsche Rück has been a partner in Extremus Versicherung , a German specialist insurer for major losses caused by terrorism , since 2002 . In 2004, Deutsche Rück, including its subsidiary DR Swiss, received an “A +” rating from Standard & Poor's . The company received this rating result in the following years.

Deutsche Rück is mainly represented in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. It also serves other countries in the European market. In addition to the head office in Düsseldorf , the company also has a subsidiary in Zurich .
