history

The association was founded in 1904 on the initiative of some students from building trade schools in Bielefeld. The headquarters changed several times, but the orientation is still the same. Under the motto “No one can lay any other foundation except that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ” ( 1. Corinthians 3:11), the DCTB works among students all over Germany. In 2004 it celebrated its centenary, making it the oldest mission organization still in existence that is explicitly aimed at students. At lectures and seminars, he mainly devotes himself to topics from the field of science and faith. The association supports missionary work at universities with three full-time travel secretaries. The Freundeskreis includes around 3,300 students and professionals. The chairman is graduate engineer Jens Höner. From 1984 to 2015, Reinhold Wennagel was the managing director, who was replaced by Oliver Karle on October 1, 2015, who held the position until November 30, 2018.

Education
The DCTB was founded on the initiative of students and is still primarily active in this area today. Student advisors from the Techniker-Bund visit universities with book stands and information stands throughout Germany, mainly with a technical orientation, and support students in founding and organizing student Bible circles. Since 2004, "Hochschul.net" has been published as a student magazine. In 2012, the website of the university work was also adapted to this name, which provides students with a Christian network.
job
The DCTB is represented with a booth at industrial trade fairs such as INTERGEO or electronica . In addition, he supports the establishment of company prayer groups.
Leisure time
Under the motto “Word and Sport”, various free time periods are held every year in cooperation with the Liebenzeller Mission .
Meetings
Conferences and meetings are held regularly in individual regions of Germany, at which numerous lectures, mostly by external speakers, are given. The topics are mostly from the fields of science, ethics and religions.
media
The club magazine Das Fundament , which first appeared in April 1904, was published six times a year until 2014. It has been published four times a year since 2015 with a circulation of around 3,500 and is sent to members and friends of the plant. In addition to numerous distribution documents, the website's audio archive should be mentioned, in which numerous recent lectures are now also available for free download. The “Little Study Helper” (pocket calendar with formulas and information on studying) is also distributed free of charge.
