The electronica is a trade fair for the electronics industry . There exhibitors present components, systems, applications and services from the industry.

About the fair

Since 1964, electronica has been organized by Messe München every second year in November on the grounds of Messe München, since the mid-1970s in alternation with the productronica that emerged from it . With a gross exhibition area of over 143,000 m², 2,913 exhibitors from 50 countries and more than 73,000 visitors (figures for 2016), electronica is one of the largest trade fairs in Munich and one of the leading international trade fairs in the electronics industry. The proportion of trade visitors to electronica is 99%.

The fair is aimed at international manufacturers and service providers in the areas of development, quality control, maintenance and servicing of electronic assemblies, devices and machines. The visitors are mainly electronics and software developers and designers of electronic circuits and products, as well as managers and employees from sales, purchasing and research.

The overarching exhibition themes of electronica are reflected in the hall structure of the fair:

electronica automotive and electronica embedded

With the special exhibition areas “electronica automotive” and “electronica embedded”, electronica sets additional priorities in automotive and vehicle electronics as well as in the areas of embedded hardware and embedded software . In addition to the actual exhibition area at the fair, electronica also organizes the “automotive forum”, the “electronica automotive conference” and the “embedded forum” as additional event platforms for visitors and exhibitors. In 2012 the "embedded platforms conference" took place for the first time. The conference is aimed at embedded system engineers who can find out more about the selection of the right platform for them.

Other conferences and forums

A supporting program accompanies the fair. In addition to the forums and conferences already mentioned above in the fields of automotive and vehicle electronics as well as embedded hardware and software, these include the following events in particular:

  • " Wireless Congress ": The congress is aimed at developers, system designers, technology decision-makers, project managers and authorities in the field of wireless systems and is organized by electronica in cooperation with Weka Fachmedien GmbH and the ZVEI .
