The DDV Deutscher Dialogmarketing Verband e. V. (DDV) is a German trade association based in Frankfurt am Main , which has set itself the goal of representing the interests of the dialogue marketing industry . Its members are companies that either use dialogue marketing in their advertising or offer dialogue marketing services. These include dialogue marketing agencies, address and information service providers, call center services and telemedia service providers, direct mail companies and those commissioning dialogue marketing measures from various branches of industry. In May 2010 the association had around 750 members.

The association has the legal form of a registered association . The general assembly elects the executive committee every three years. In addition to the president, there are four vice-presidents who jointly determine the strategic direction of the association. The current presidents are Martin Nitsche and Patrick Tapp. Honorary Presidents without function Friedhelm Lammoth and Peter K. Neff.

The board is responsible for the subject-specific orientation of the association. It consists of the chairmen of the ten DDV councils . The councils result from the different segments of dialogue marketing. The chairpersons are elected every three years by the members of the councils.

The office is located in Frankfurt am Main and deals with the operational work of the association.

history

The association was founded in 1948 as a working group of address publishers with the aim of establishing a balance of interests between address publishers and consumers . In 1981 the name was changed to the General Direct Advertising and Direct Marketing Association , and in 1985 to the German Direct Marketing Association . To mark the 60th anniversary of the association, the name change took place in the German Dialog Marketing Association in 2008 .

goals and tasks

The aim of the association is to communicate the relevance of dialogue marketing to politics and the public. He regards political work, quality assurance, consumer protection and the promotion of young talent as his tasks.

Political work

The association represents the interests of its members in relation to politics. As a lobbyist, he campaigns against restrictions on the freedom of advertising, advocates regulated self-regulation and positions himself against "state restrictions and bureaucratism " .

quality control

In recent years, the association has created binding codes of honor , declarations of commitment, certifications and seals that are available to members and other companies.
