German role play award

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The German Role Playing Award (DRP) has been awarded to particularly outstanding role-playing games since 2014. It is an award that emerged from the role-playing scene and is organized without commercial interest. In contrast to the German Role Playing Prize , which was awarded from 2000 to 2005, it is a jury prize.

The prize is awarded during a festive ceremony at NORDCON in Hamburg. The winners will be awarded a prize statue and a certificate. Prominent people from the role-playing and fantasy scene give a laudation and present the prize figure to the winner.

Electoral process

The prize is awarded by a five-person jury made up of well-known role-play creators. The jury composition changes every year, with one permanent member. Works that interested publishers nominate to the organizer will be assessed. The prerequisite is that the print products from the role-playing field were published for the first time between the free role-playing day of the previous year and the free role-playing day of the award year. The jury members put together a shortlist, which usually consists of three works. The winner is then chosen from these.
