Backstory

In Metal Heroes - and the Fate of Rock of metal fan Taylor is at the center of the story, which was chosen by the god of Rocks to assume its role. Taylor's job is to build a garage band into a metal act and select the band members, attend numerous concerts and festivals and ultimately build the largest band on the planet.

Rules of the game

The rules of the game for the game book build on the one hand on the rules that apply to all fantasy game books and supplement them with character development based on pen & paper role-playing games . The player and reader uses a “metal logbook” as a character sheet, on which the influence and the number of lives are noted. The player has to decide on a level of difficulty at the beginning and can play the game as "pussy", "rocker" or "freak". He also enters “Taylor's stuff” and various phases of the “Road to Glory” in the character sheet. In addition, there is a separate band sheet for the members of the band, on which the character traits of the band members as well as the “fan base” and “band chemistry” are documented, as well as sheets on the repertoire of the band in various metal genres and the tour book the stations of the band.

The reader and thus the protagonist of the novel can steer the story in different directions at the end of the individual sections within the sections through various decisions and also through random mechanisms such as throwing the dice ("checks") and drawing cards from a poker game , which creates a different story in each case results. In some places he can lead the story to the death of the protagonist, which then ends the respective story ("Power off!").
