The German Steel Construction Association ( DSTV for short ) is an interest group of the steel industry founded in 1904 . The German Committee for Steel Construction DASt is connected to the DSTV .

history

The association was founded in 1904 under the name "Association of German Bridge and Ironworks - VDBEF". Ten years later it traded as the "Deutscher Eisenbau-Verband" and from 1928 finally as the "Deutscher Stahlbau-Verband".

The DSTV and the Bauforumstahl BFS merged on January 1, 2012 under the name bauforumstahl . You are the host of the German Steel Construction Day. The seat of the association is in Düsseldorf. There are offices in Leipzig and Gaggenau.

aims

The association sees itself as a discussion partner for the steel industry and steel construction companies . He is also in contact with executing companies and engineering offices that are placing tenders. The central aim is to convey information about modern steel building materials and construction methods. The association draws attention to steel construction technology through the publication of information materials (partly online). This knowledge is passed on to interested parties in advanced training courses and seminars.

The members take part in national and international bodies and committees and represent the interests of the steel industry there. The association is also involved in the development of standards and guidelines.

German Committee for Steel Construction DASt

The German Committee for Steel Construction DASt , founded on January 11, 1908, emerged from the DSTV, whose board has since also taken over management. It was entered in the register of associations under the name "Committee for Experiments in Iron Construction" and received its current name on December 3, 1935. It is a technical-scientific association whose task it is to promote research, processing of regulations and standardization in steel construction. Members are representatives from science, authorities, industry, steel-related industries and institutions as well as engineering companies involved in structural planning.
