The 3F German Museum for Photo, Film and Television Technology , or 3F Museum for short , is located in the Palatinate country town of Deidesheim and is located on Weinstrasse diagonally across from the historic town hall in the rooms of the Deidesheim Hospital . The museum was opened on December 8, 1990 as a museum for film and photo technology ; in 2000 it was renamed the German Film and Photo Technology Museum after the exhibition area was expanded . Since 2018 it has been called the 3F German Museum for Photo, Film and Television Technology .

More than 5500 exhibits from all epochs of film and photo technology are on display on around 400 m²; the collection is one of the largest in the field of film and photo technology in Europe. A copy of Ray Dolby's patent on the noise suppression process , which the American engineer sent the museum in a personal letter in February 2001, is also on display.

The sponsoring association 3F Deutsches Museum für Foto-, Film- und Fernsehtechnik e. V. at. The museum receives donations in kind from Agfa , Kodak and ARRI , but also from television stations such as ZDF and Südwestrundfunk .
