The German Poster Museum (DPM) is a special collection for posters in the city of Essen and has been domiciled in the new Folkwang Museum since 2010 .

The collection was taken over by the city of Essen in 1974 and incorporated into the Folkwang Museum. It was initially housed in downtown Essen . The inventory was and is constantly being expanded through new acquisitions. In 2011 the collection consisted of more than 340,000 objects. The head is René Grohnert.

The collection contains posters from the fields of politics, business and culture. The time span extends from the beginnings of poster development to the present day. The main focus is the documentation of German poster development in a European context.
