Moltkeplatz sculpture ensemble, Essen
The Moltkeplatz Essen sculpture ensemble is a sculpture collection in the Moltkeviertel in Essen , North Rhine-Westphalia .
history
In 1981 the ensemble was put together on the initiative of the gallery owner Jochen Krüper in Essen and by Uwe Rüth , the former director of the Glaskasten Sculpture Museum and the art collection in Marl , on Moltkeplatz. After Jochen Krüper's death in 2002, the association Kunst am Moltkeplatz (KaM), founded by residents in 2006, committed itself to the upkeep and any maintenance of the sculptures. Since the beginning of 2010, the ensemble has been supplemented with changing exhibitions as part of the Young Art project at Moltkeplatz . For the history since 1981 see the literature below.

After the life-size sculpture by the artist Heinz Breloh, who died in 2001, was removed in 2013 due to expiring contracts, the Breloh community of heirs signed a new contract with the city of Essen in January 2016. In the middle of February of the year the work of art was put back in its original place.
