Devils' Line ( Japanese デ ビ ル ズ ラ イ ン ) is a manga series by Ryo Hanada . It has been released in Japan since 2013 and has been adapted as an anime television series. The work can be classified into the genres of fantasy and drama.

When the student Tsukasa Taira goes home with her fellow student Shota Akimura one evening, they are followed by a vampire. There have been repeated murders of women in the city where a vampire is suspected. But the stranger turns out to be investigator Yūki Anzai, who uses his abilities to hunt vampires as a half-vampire. Shota is arrested by him because he is a vampire and he is suspected of the series of murders. The rescued Tsukasa brings Anzai home. There he suddenly attacks her, but thanks to his medication he can hold back. Because Anzai also has to keep his thirst for blood in check, like the other vampires who want to live peacefully between people.

Tsukasa later meets Anzai again and learns that some vampires manage to live between people thanks to drugs. From then on, her savior visits her again and again - to watch over her, as he says.

The manga has been published in Morning Two magazine by Kodansha since March 2013 . He brought out the chapters in 14 volumes so far. The 13th volume sold over 35,000 times.

A German translation of the series has been published by Kazé Germany in eight volumes since May 2019 . An English version is published by Vertical , a French version by Kana , a Spanish version by Editorial Ivréa and a Chinese version by Tong Li Publishing .

Anime series

At Studio Platinum Vision , an anime series based on the manga was created in 2018 under the direction of Hideaki Nakano . The concept comes from Ayumu Hisao and Kenji Konuta . The character design was created by Chisato Kawaguchi and the artistic director was Masaki Mayuzumi . The responsible producers were Kazumi Saito , Kisara Takahashi and Yoshihiko Yamazaki .

The 12 episodes, each lasting 25 minutes, were shown for the first time in Japan from April 7th to June 23rd, 2018 by the broadcasters BS11 , Tokyo MX , AT-X , Sun TV and KBS Kyōto . The platform Hidive published the anime online with subtitles in several languages. A German dubbed version was released on DVD by Universum Anime from March 2019 , Sentai Filmworks released an English dubbing.

The music in the series was composed by Kana Shibue . The song Eclipse by Shōta Aoi was used for the opening credits and the credits are underlaid with Sotto Toketeyuku Yō ni by Mamoru Miyano .
