Deximed - German Expert Information Medicine is a fee-based German-language medical encyclopedia on the Internet.

content

Deximed is aimed primarily at general practitioners and their patients. The medical encyclopedia is being developed and continuously updated in collaboration with the German Society for General Medicine and Family Medicine ( DEGAM ), taking into account German medical guidelines and patient information . DEGAM provides a scientific advisory board that is supposed to ensure that the medical encyclopedia takes into account the criteria of evidence-based medicine .

Emergence

Deximed is based on the Norwegian medical encyclopedia Norsk Elektronisk Legehåndbok NEL ("Norwegian Electronic Doctors Handbook") , which has existed since 1999 . NEL was developed at the Technical and Natural Sciences University of Norway in Trondheim by general practitioner Terje Johannessen. Günter Ollenschläger was the first editor-in-chief from May 2015 to November 2016.

In Denmark, an adapted version has been made available to the population free of charge by the local health authorities since 2011, in a version for doctors ( Lægehåndbogen = medical handbook) and one for the public ( patient handbook ). A modified version called Medibas has existed in Sweden since 2013 .

editor

Deximed is published by Gesinform (Freiburg / Br.), A subsidiary of the Bonnier media group.
