Dhaleshwari is a 160 km long, up to 81 m deep estuary of the Jamuna in Bangladesh .

Starting from the Jamuna, it is first divided into a northern arm, which retains the name, and a southern arm, which takes the name Kaliganga. After the union of the two arms, the Dhaleshwari flows into the Shitalakshya River, which flows into the Meghna .

In earlier times it probably flowed in the bed of the Padma , until the Padma changed its course between 1600 and 2000 AD.

In the 2010s, the Dhaleshwari has proven to be prone to pollution. One of the causes is the settlement of tanneries in the Hazaribagh area , where similar pollution had occurred in Buriganga .
