Diafani ( Greek Διαφάνι ( n. Sg. )) Is a port on the north east coast of Karpathos . Together with other settlements and hamlets, the village belongs to the local community (Τοπική Κοινότητα Topiki Kinotita ) and the municipality of the same name of Olymbos (Δημοτική Ενότητα Ολύμπου Dimotiki Enotita Olymbou ). Diafáni was founded around the end of the 18th century by the inhabitants of Olymbos as their harbor settlement. Even today the village takes over the port function of Olymbos, especially for the boats with the day tourists to Olymbos.
