The Life Insurance AG Dialog is a German life insurance company based in Augsburg.

history

It was founded in 1972 as "Erste Augsburger Leben Versicherungs-Aktiengesellschaft". The founder was Otto Forst, President of the Executive Life Insurance Company in Beverly Hills. The first phase of the company's history ended in 1974: the German Lloyd Lebensversicherungs-AG in Munich took over all the shares in Erste Augsburger Leben. Assicurazioni Generali SpA in Trieste was the major shareholder of Lloyd . Dialog has been part of the Generali Group since 1974. The new business was taken over by the field service of Deutsche Lloyd. After three years, the success of the new corporate concept became apparent: In the sixth year after it was founded, the company was operating profitably. The second phase ended in 1983. The third phase in the history of Erste Augsburger Leben began in 1983 when it was renamed “Dialog Lebensversicherungs-AG”. On the product side, the restart was prepared with the introduction of new capital tariffs and risk tariffs with ongoing brokerage fees. In broker sales, everything focused on term life insurance . Dialog positioned itself in the market as a risk insurer. In 1991 the company entered the Austrian market .

The fourth phase was initiated in 2003 by repositioning Dialog. The company became an independent insurer within the German Generali Group , which concentrates exclusively on the broker sales channel, which includes pools , individual brokers , multiple agents , independent distributors, banks and savings banks . The pure risk insurer became a specialist insurer for biometric risks .

The chairman of the supervisory board is Stefan Lehmann (since 2017), the board of directors is Michael Stille (chairman of the board since 2015), Uli Rothaufe (since 2018) and Edgar Hütten (since 2011).

Business areas

The business fields of Dialog Lebensversicherungs-AG consist in the financial protection of the risks of death and disability . To this end, the company offers term life insurance , occupational disability insurance and disability insurance as independent insurance and as supplementary insurance, including supplementary accidental death insurance.
