Didier Decoin
Didier Decoin (born March 13, 1945 in Boulogne-Billancourt ) is a French writer who was awarded the Prix Goncourt in 1977 for the novel John l'enfer .
biography
Didier Decoin is the son of filmmaker Henri Decoin . He started his career as a journalist with the newspapers France Soir , Le Figaro and VOD, and Radio Europe 1 . At the same time he began to write. In 1977 he was awarded the Prix Goncourt for the novel John l'enfer .
While continuing to write his own works, he also had success as a screenwriter for film and television (adaptations and scripts for television films such as the great Les Miserables, The Count of Monte Cristo, Balzac and Napoleon). In 1995 he became secretary of the Académie Goncourt. In 2007 he became president of the Écrivain de Marine. In 2019 he received the Bad Sex in Fiction Award for The Office of Gardens and Ponds (Original: Le Bureau des jardins et des étangs , 2017) .
